The Cape Windjammers Education Trust uses the spirit of "One ship, One crew” lived on a Tall Ship to create a space for sustainable reconciliation and peace building in Cape Town
The Izivunguvungu Music Project is part of a larger social outreach organisation, supervised by the South African Navy. The former Director of Music, Cdr Mike Oldham, instigated the project in 1996 with the assistance of musicians from the Navy Band who visited local disadvantaged schools.
Izivunguvungu Youth Band first concert in Germany For 4 days the band stayed in Buende/Westf. to meet old friends and instrument givers of the local Navy Club and their Shanty Choir before they go to the big music show in Bremen.
